· Instruction in movements, philosophy and principles of Traditional Yang style T'ai Chi Ch'uan.
· In-depth teaching of Liangong & Zhan Zhuang Qi Gong exercises.
· Exploration of the deep energizing effects of T'ai Chi Chih (T'ai Chi Ruler).
· Introduction to Zen practice and dialogue on Zen with Sensei Charles Tenshin Fletcher.
Beginning students learn foundation principles and basic moves of Yang Style T'ai Chi. Receive in-depth instruction of Qi Gong: Healing Energy Work. Intermediate students learn advanced T'ai Chi moves, and application of Qi Gong principles to T'ai Chi practice.
Sifu Lana Spraker,M.A. has been a teacher of T'ai Chi Ch'uan & Qi Gong for over 38 years, both in the United States and abroad. She has studied with Masters Tung Kai-Ying, Ha Fong and Yu Wen-Mei and is a Certified Teacher of the Alexander Technique. Her method of teaching blends western Alexander Technique principles of balanced and coordinated use of the body with the rich lineage of T'ai Chi Ch'uan that she has acquired in over 40 years of study. This is Sifu Spraker's 23rd year of conducting retreats at Zen Mountain Center.
Roshi Charles Tenshin Fletcher - Abbot and teacher at Yokoji Zen Mountain Center. Successor of Taezen Maezumi Roshi, founder of White Plum Lineage of Soto Zen. His book, Way of Zen, published Spring 2002, is a clear and informative contribution to the understanding of Buddhism.
Yokoji Zen Mountain Center sits serenely on 160 acres of wilderness land, at 5500' amid pine and oak, deer and wildflowers. It is located in the San Jacinto Mountains, near Idyllwild, approx 120 miles east of Los Angeles.
